Self-described “Arizona dirtbag” Eleanor Shellstrop starts off as a selfish, amoral pharmaceutical salesperson from Phoenix, Arizona, who believes she ended up in the Good Place due to a clerical error. However, she is determined to stay. As the series progresses, Eleanor eventually becomes a more selfless, thoughtful, and compassionate person who, with the help of her friends, saves all of humanity.

An immortal being and a member of the Good Place Committee. While he apparently wants to help Eleanor and the others, he ultimately makes no actual decision. He and the other committee members flee from the Good Place after leaving Micheal in charge.

Doug Forcett

A former stoner from Calgary famous in the afterlife for making an almost accurate prediction of it. In season three, he is 68 years old and lives a life of solitude and self-sacrifice due to his fear of ending up in the Bad Place. A portrait of him at the age he made the prediction hangs in Michael’s office. He makes an appearance in the series finale and is mentioned to have gone through the door.

An artificial being created by Janet as a rebound boyfriend after her and Jason’s break-up. In the fourth season, he becomes the most advanced being in existence as a result of being rebooted hundreds of millions of times.
